Description
Etymotic MK5 delivers clear sound and great details using high performance dynamic drivers. Just like our more expensive models, the MK5 offers Etymotic’s renowned passive isolation of 35-42 dB attenuation.
Accurate Earphone Reproduction
When tuning in-ear monitors to accurately reproduce a recording of a live performance, our goal is for the sound hitting the eardrums to be identical to that at the original performance. To achieve this, the acoustic properties of the ear must be factored in. The acoustic resonance and horn effects of the ear change a flat audio signal entering the open ear into sound with a (2700 Hz) high-frequency boost, which is the same response heard at the eardrum in a typical ear. That is the reason for the “hump” in the frequency response graph, which assures the eardrums perceive a perfectly flat frequency response for all frequencies.

Works Great
I had used a competitors ear bud, and it wouldn’t stay in my ear. These really reduce noise, stay in place, and sound great. Couldn’t be happier with these.

Motorcycle Aproved
I’ve used these for years inside my Shoei helmets with a Sena 10C. Won’t use anything else. Great for protecting ears from wind and motor noise and I can listen to soft Quartet Jazz or Classical while riding. I don’t need the long cord but I wrap up the excess with a cord wrapper and then seal it with electrical tape for just the right length.

So Reliable
These are the best earphones I have ever owned. The sound quality is great, they fit comfortably in my small ears and the best part is how durable they are. I really like how affordable they are, too. I bought mine in Nov 2021 and they are still going strong in Jan 2023.
