Return Instructions

  • Return product in a well-protected container.
  • For extra protection, place eartips on the earphones.
  • Use a shipping method (recommended) with tracking and insurance services.
    Etymotic Research is not responsible for packages that do not reach our service facility.

NOTE: When returning COMPANION MICS, return all units, not just the defective unit(s).

In-Warranty Returns

  • Print a copy of the confirmation email and include with your return. Retain a copy for your records.
  • Include a copy of the original purchase receipt.
  • You are responsible for shipping charges when sending your product to Etymotic.
  • Free shipping back to you on in-warranty products.

Out-of-Warranty Returns

  • Print a copy of the confirmation email and include with your return. Retain a copy for your records.
  • You are responsible for all shipping charges.

30-day Return for Credit (Etymotic direct purchases only)

  • Print a copy of the confirmation email and include with your return. Retain a copy for your records.
  • Include a copy of the Etymotic purchase receipt or invoice number.

ER4 Upgrade Options

  • Print a copy of the confirmation email and include with your return. Retain a copy for your records.
  • Include a copy of the original purchase receipt with your return if you selected Upgrade Option 1 or Upgrade Option 2. If you don't have a copy of your purchase receipt, you can purchase a new ER4SR or ER4XR as outlined in Upgrade Option 3.

Out of Warranty Returns and Special Purchase Option

  • Print a copy of the confirmation email and include with your return. Retain a copy for your records.

Shipping Charges

Shipping is calculated by UPS based on shipping from Etymotic Research (Zip Code 60007) to the delivery address on the order. All available shipping options for your order are presented in the cart. Actual delivery times are at the discretion of UPS. Tracking information from UPS will be emailed to the email address listed on the order when the order is shipped.

Customs

Note for International shipments: Customs regulations require Etymotic to include an invoice with the total value.

Customs policies vary from country to country. Contact your local customs office for further information. The customer is considered the importer of record and is responsible for customs fees and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods.

  • Additional taxes or customs fees are not included in the shipping charges listed above. Etymotic Research does not have control over these charges and cannot estimate what they may be.
  • All additional charges must be paid by the customer in accordance with the laws of the country in which the goods are received.

  • Warranty-replacement products, special purchase options, and ER4 Upgrade Options are returned to the customer via UPS only.
  • If an email address is provided on the claim form, tracking and shipping details are emailed when the package is in transit.
