6i Isolator Earphones
What Reviewers Are Saying About Etymotic Research Earphones

"After eight months of use now, I can report they sound absolutely amazing...the bass is there, but it's there in the correct amounts, as the artist intended...The ER-6i earphones don't need [EQ] help, you just have to acclimate your ears a bit. Apple's earphones, while pretty good, tend to overemphasize the bass and introduce a muddy tone throughout...Within a week, I'd adjusted to the flatter, truer frequency response of the ER-6i earphones and I can no longer bear to listen to the Apple iPod earphones. My only wish is that I had the ER-6i's earlier."

37 Gadgets Every MAC User Will Love--"ER 6i.....Our favorite GottaHaveIt Gadget"
  - MacWorld, December 2004

"[The] Etymotic Research ER 6 ($139) and ER6i ($149) ...have great midrange and treble. The ER6i are our favorites here, offering the best of both worlds as well as an iPod matching white design."
  - Dan Frakes, Playlist, November 8, 2004

" 'Etymotic' means 'true to the ear,' and these handmade headphones (also designed to be inserted deep into your ear canal) live up to their name, making recordings I've listened to hundreds of times sound utterly new--I could hear the scrape of Joey Santiago's metal guitar picks and the sound of John Coltrane's saxophone valves opening and closing... They're the only perfect model I tried. "
  - Alex Abramovich, Slate, November 11, 2004

"...after the first 30 seconds of listening to the ER6i's my first words were, "wow, wow, and wow! The 6i earphones are all about clarity and definition, featuring crisp, clean, accurate reproduction of sound. You will hear things within the music that you simply cannot hear with Apple's earphones."

PumpedUp Portable Sound/ ER4...... 5 stars

"ER4P offers silence, fidelity, and portability all in the extreme. Isolation, not cancellation, is the path to musical nirvana." "ER6--Listen and you'll hear a purity to the sound that few phones can match. Bass response is excellent deep and well defined for an ear bud type headphone."
  - Steve Guttenberg, CNET, March 2004

"Etymotic Research, makers of ultra high quality music headphones, has released a new cell phone headset. Why should you consider paying $69 for a headset (especially one with a wire)? The sound quality is superior. But more importantly, the mic filters out lots of background noise. It's about time to start being more considerate of the person your talking to--no one likes to hear street noise or screaming children in the background of your spiel."
  - Josh Rubin, Gizmodo.com, March 17 2004

"When you're wedged between a crying baby and a talkative nervous flier on an international flight, you absolutely want the complete noise isolation that ETYMOTIC earphones offer."
  - Chris Shipley, DEMO, March 14, 2004

"After spending most of the day listening to music through a pair of Etymotic Research ER4P earphones, I found myself wondering about the possibility of having them permanently installed in my ears. Such is the extraordinarily pristine sound quality, it seemed a shame to have to keep taking them out to listen to people talking."
  - Tom Robbs, ElectronicMusic.com, January 22, 2004

"The in a ear miracle phone. The sound delivered directly into your head with no outside interference or imperfections, and they're so small and discreet an onlooker would hardly notice you're wearing them. Goodbye world, hello music."

Headphone Heaven --"ER6 earbuds sounded better than any of the noise canceling models."
  - Henry Bortman, MacWorld, December 2003

"I've used many types of headphones and earphones, a few of which claimed to be of the noise isolation type, but nothing comes close to the level of sound isolation offered by the ER4P earphones."
  - Electronic Music, November 20, 2003

"The P in ER4P stands for power, and these microspeakers live up to their billing. Etymotic's earphones weigh less than an ounce but drive cleanly to 122 decibels--that's DJbooth level."
  - Wired Magazine, November 2003

"ER4P will deliver your MP3 player's full sound potential. Sound quality is astonishingly good. The overall quality of the ER4P leaves every other portable headphone set we've every tested for CNET in the dust. The Etymotic ER4P is a true reference quality design and is highly recommended."
  - CNET Asia, November 2004
